Description:

The main objectives considered within the contracts/projects carried out for the Development and Modernization of Iași Airport (Prefeasibility Study, Feasibility Study, Technical Design, Technical Specifications and Working Drawings) were the followings:

• Determination of the actual bearing capacity by the ACN/PCN method of the 1800 m long airport Runway
• Studying the 14 options for the location of the Runway with cement concrete or asphalt as road pavement, including its extension from 1800 m to 2500 m/2800 m appropriate to the domestic and international air traffic of passengers and cargo carried out by aircraft provided with the code letter „D”, according to the classification of the International Civil Aviation Organization
• Equipping the Runway with air navigation protection equipment and modern beaconing systems, radars, etc.
• Equipping the airport with technical means specific to this complex objective
• Provision of the air traffic safety on the airport with fences, gates, control points, etc.
• Identification and design of new roads of access to the airport
• Drainage works of airport running surfaces
• 500 t aviation and car fuel storage
• Utilities, power supply installations, water, sewerage, etc.
• Presentation of the works carried out on 4 modules (Runway and all the movement and access surfaces on the airport, Passenger Terminal, Cargo Terminal, Aircraft Maintenance and Repair Hangar)
